Doggy Chews

I like to keep a close eye on the food we actually give Ellie. At the moment she is on Skinners Dried Puppy Food, which I drench with water (she loves it). Skinners is a good quality food, so will probably move her onto the Adult Chicken and Rice food when she grows. Dalmatians have specific dietary needs, so I am conscious  that even her treats should be carefully scrutinised.
She will tolerate (by which I mean not poo everywhere), puppy treats, but, I am still not happy with the additives that these can contain. For training Ellie we have mostly been using cheese and chicken.
At class, she was given a rawhide chew by the trainer (I didn't use rawhide with Pepper). Ellie loved it!
Since then though, I have been reading that rawhide may not bee too good for puppies (or dogs for that matter). I realise this is a personal opinion, and most people would be happy to give rawhide (I am way to soft and cautious with this pooch!)
Anyway, I thought I would give home made treats a try. Here is my first batch of 'Sweet Potato Chews'. They are still cooling off at the moment, and will see if Ellie actually LIKES them soon and report back!
