Well, we just got back from our first holiday with Ellie. It was a total success!
She did so well traveling in the car on the way there, which is just as well, as we spent, on average, 3 hours a day travelling.
We were staying in Silloth (not by choice, as our previous holiday had been double booked).
The caravan park was quite, but absolutely immaculate. Solway Firth has a huge shingle beach, which was usually totally deserted. Les took Ellie there every evening for a great walk (pic's in the link to follow).
During the daytime we traveled to the Lakes, visiting both Keswick and Bowness on Windermere. It has to be one of my favorite places in the world, so beautiful. Ellie coped very well with the inevitable crowds (and dogs). One of the highlights (which I sadly missed) was Ellie meeting up with a year old Dalmatian. They both went mad together, mixing up their leads in excitement, then both standing up on their hind legs and 'hugging' each other (makes me wonder if they know their 'breed'?).
Evenings were filled with visiting the 'complex' for a few drinks and watching the 'entertainment' with the kids. Les, stayed with Ellie in the caravan then went out for a pint when we got back.
All in all it was a lovely few days away, one which will be repeated many times I'm sure, as I can't ever see us going away without Ellie in the future ♥
