Over the last week (since last Mondays fall) the rest of the family have been walking Ellie. Yesterday, however, was the first day there was no one around for her 'daytime' walk. My knee is still quite sore, but, I thought I had better take her out for her regular walk. I used her Mekuti Harness which gives me more control as I can use both hands with the lead. She still pulls like mad, but, using the shorter lead (as opposed to the retractable one), gives me more control. We are continuing with the lead training, I just think it is going to take a good while for her to give in and let us win lol!
My oldest son has just landed a full time job, which we are thrilled about (he has been working part time in the evenings over the last few months), but he will miss taking Ellie out for her daytime walk (he loves walking her). This will leave her 'long daily walk' up to me (previously we have shared it). The evening walk WAS her longer walk (with the Hubby), but, as the nights have drawn in so quickly, he can't take her as far as he used to (as there is no lighting in the country park). I must get some decent walking boots and Wellies for the winter!
Ellie is settling down this last few weeks, though she is still teething quite badly. One thing about Ellie (and Dalmatians in general) is that she just HAS to be touching you, no matter what you are doing! Here are a couple as proof (the first one I had just eaten dinner and pulled my chair out!)
