Hot hot hot!

Wow, it has been a hot week here in the UK. Up here in the North East we have had tempratures up to 27°C! Our usual summer temperature is usually around 20°C at best.
We are not used to such high temps, and neither is Ellie. She doesn't really like it too hot. She tends to spend most of the day lazing around in the garden or house. Her evening walks have had to be a little later than usual too, as it is still hot in the early evening.
She still insists on running as fast as she can when off lead, so she needs a couple of bottles of water (as shown in the picture) to cool down.

We went to the Kelso bike festival at the weekend, but left Ellie at home with our daughter. I am glad we did, as it was so hot, and most of us ended up sunburnt and in pain! It was a great weekend though (pic of me and the hubby drinking wine at midnight below) and given us a real taste for more regular holidays under canvass.
We are booking a few days away in the Lake District with friends in mid August, Ellie will be coming with us from now on.
Our friends took their four and a half month old Poodle to Kelso, and she coped really well. She was extremely well behaved. I do hope Ellie enjoys camping too!

(edit) And the temperature continues to rise. The photo below was taken this morning at 11.30am!
